    Heang Chhor

    Heang Chhor

    Founder & Managing Partner

    Heang Chhor is the Founder and Managing Partner of Qualgro. He was previously a Senior Partner at McKinsey & Company (26 years) and has worked many years in Europe and the last decade in Asia, especially in Japan (Head of McKinsey Japan) and in Southeast Asia.


    He has extensive business experience and networks in Consumer, Retail / e-commerce, Banking / Fintech and Technology areas.


    He has led Qualgro’s investments in several companies across the region, and has helped them expand their international presence and business networks.

    Heang is a French citizen, was born in Cambodia, educated in Europe and has worked across continents. Before McKinsey, he was an entrepreneur with his own company.

    Jason Edwards

    Jason Edwards

    Co-Founder​ & Partner

    Jason is a Co-Founder and Partner at Qualgro, having led a number of investments in the B2B space, has extensive experience in deal structuring and fund raising for portfolio companies.


    He previously worked at Clearwater Capital Partners, a multibillion dollar Private Equity fund, as the General Counsel and was part of the Investment Committee. He has also acted as a consultant to investment banks like Goldman Sachs and Deutsche Bank on investments in emerging markets.

    He was previously a Partner with Baker & McKenzie, before moving into Private Equity. He has worked in Asia for almost 20 years, in Singapore, Hong Kong and Bangkok.


    Jason holds a Law Degree (Hons) and a Master of Laws, and is admitted to the bar in Australia, Hong Kong, England & Wales.

    Peter Huynh

    Peter Huynh

    Co-Founder​ & Partner

    Peter is a Co-Founder and Partner at Qualgro, and has led investments in SaaS, data, marketplaces, messaging and hardware, in Southeast Asia and Australia. He has helped numerous companies with international expansion and leadership development.

    He was previously a Director at Singtel Innov8, Singtel Group’s Corporate VC fund, and Co-Founder of Optus-Innov8, a Corporate VC investing in Australian startups. He has also led Technology M&A transactions for Singtel Group Digital Life. He has worked in Asia, Europe, US and Australia.

    Peter also worked at Hutchison Group (in the telco business unit), where he held business development, corporate development and product roles, based in Sydney and London. Prior to that he held senior roles in digital agencies at WPP, and started his tech career at Computer Sciences Corporation. Peter is also an Investor/Mentor at Startmate, regarded as Australia’s leading accelerator program.

    Peter holds a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws, and is based in Sydney.

    Olivier Sibony

    Senior Advisor​ & Investment Committee Member

    Olivier Sibony is an Investment Committee Member of Qualgro, and has been involved in every investment that Qualgro has made to date.

    He is a professor, writer and consultant specializing in the quality of strategic thinking and the organization of decision processes.

    He was a senior partner at McKinsey & Company (more than 20 years) with experience in Europe and US.


    He is an Affiliate Professor at HEC Paris, an Associate Fellow of Oxford’s Saïd Business School and a guest lecturer at London Business School. He has advised companies on the topic of strategic decision making, in private equity, venture capital, energy, pharmaceuticals, luxury goods and consumer products. Olivier also serves on the corporate or advisory boards of several companies, including an Israeli e-commerce company, a French diversified holding company, an advisory unit reporting to the French Prime Minister.

    He is a graduate of HEC Paris and is based in Paris.

    Trevor Han

    Trevor Han

    Director of Finance & Operations

    Trevor leads Finance and Operations at Qualgro, and oversees portfolio management, fund compliance and audit related activity, as well as other operational aspects.


    Prior to joining, he worked in Millennium Capital Management, a multibillion dollar hedge fund, where he was responsible for financial accounting, tax and various regulatory matters.


    He started his career in the audit and assurance division of KPMG and has experience in fund management, foreign banks and manufacturing companies. He holds a Bachelor of Accountancy degree from the Nanyang Technological University and is a Member of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants.

    Yuma Mugita

    Yuma Mugita

    Senior Manager

    Yuma is a Senior Manager at Qualgro, and has led the due diligence process for more than 15 startup investments at a Series A & Series B.

    He has overseen the analysis of a range of technology spaces, including P2P lending, Enterprise SaaS, Marketplaces and Data Analytics.


    Yuma has also worked closely with companies post-investment, assisting with strategic and financial input, particularly with SaaS companies operating in SMB and Enterprise.


    He was previously a Senior Associate consultant at Bain & Co, where he worked in the Tokyo office, as well as in Singapore and Bangkok.

    Yuma holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Nuclear Engineering) from University of Tokyo, and is based in Singapore.

    Wanying Zhang

    Wanying Zhang


    Wanying has end to end experience across the investment process, including deal sourcing, due diligence and portfolio management activities.


    She has been involved in the investment process for SaaS, data and marketplace businesses - having led deals and diligence processes for companies in Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning, AdTech, EdTech, SMB and Enterprise SaaS, amongst many others.


    Wanying also has experience in deal sourcing across multiple regions, including Southeast Asia, Europe and Australia.

    She is a graduate of the National University of Singapore Business School, and relocated to Singapore from China as a scholarship student, and is fluent in written and spoken Mandarin as well as English.

    Sawfi Muliana

    Sawfi Muliana

    Administrative Manager

    Sawfi is an Administrative Manager at Qualgro, and a key point of coordination on our team.


    She manages accounting, HR, office and team-related activities, and other administrative duties.


    Sawfi also organises startup community related events on behalf of Qualgro.
