Heang is the Founder and Managing Partner of Qualgro. He has led Qualgro’s investments in several companies across the region, and has helped them expand their international presence and business networks.
He was previously a Senior Partner at McKinsey & Company (26 years) and a member of the McKinsey Global Board. He has worked many years in Europe and the last decade in Asia, especially in Japan (Head of McKinsey Japan) and in Southeast Asia.
He has extensive business experience and networks in Consumer, Retail / e-commerce, Banking / Fintech and Technology areas.
Heang is a French citizen, was born in Cambodia, educated in Europe and has worked across continents. Before McKinsey, he was an entrepreneur with his own company.
Peter is a Partner at Qualgro, and has led investments in SaaS, data, marketplaces, messaging and hardware, in Southeast Asia and Australia. He has helped numerous companies with international expansion and leadership development.
He was previously a Director at Singtel Innov8, Singtel Group’s Corporate VC fund, and Co-Founder of Optus-Innov8, a Corporate VC investing in Australian startups. He has also led Technology M&A transactions for Singtel Group Digital Life. He has worked in Asia, Europe, US and Australia.
Peter also worked at Hutchison Group (in the telco business unit), where he held business development, corporate development and product roles, based in Sydney and London. Prior to that he held senior roles in digital agencies at WPP, and started his tech career at Computer Sciences Corporation. Peter is also an Investor/Mentor at Startmate, regarded as Australia’s leading accelerator program. Peter holds a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws, and is based in Sydney.
Olivier is a Senior Advisor and Investment Committee Member of Qualgro, and has been involved in every investment that Qualgro has made to date. He is a professor, writer and consultant, specializing in the quality of strategic thinking and the organization of decision processes.
He was a Senior Partner at McKinsey & Company (more than 20 years) with experience in Europe and US.
He is an Affiliate Professor at HEC Paris, an Associate Fellow of Oxford’s Saïd Business School and a guest lecturer at London Business School. He has advised companies on the topic of strategic decision making, in private equity, venture capital, energy, pharmaceuticals, luxury goods and consumer products. Olivier also serves on the corporate or advisory boards of several companies, including an Israeli e-commerce company, a French diversified holding company, an advisory unit reporting to the French Prime Minister. He is a graduate of HEC Paris and is based in Paris.
Minh is a Manager at Qualgro, with a focus on SaaS and other enterprise technology spaces such as industrial AI. He is involved across the investment process, and works with portfolio companies in Southeast Asia and Europe.
Minh was previously a Manager at A.T. Kearney in Paris, working across key markets in Europe, Southeast Asia and the Middle-East with a focus on operations in consumer goods and private equity.
Prior to that, he held several positions in business development and strategy in Energy, Engineering and Construction, and has experience launching new ventures within the corporate environment.
Minh holds a BSc. and MSc. from France Ecole Polytechnique (Economics and Mechanical Engineering) as well as a Master of Science from UC Berkeley (Structural Engineering).
Weisheng is a Manager at Qualgro, where he is involved in deep-tech areas. He is involved across the investment process from sourcing, due diligence through to portfolio management.
Prior to Qualgro, he was Head of Southeast Asia at UpGrad, an online education startup, where he launched the Southeast Asian office. He was previously based in Hangzhou at Alibaba Group where he led projects to help startups engage with the Alibaba ecosystem. Weisheng began his career at Parthenon Group, where he advised on strategy and due diligence across Southeast Asia and China.
Weisheng holds a Bachelor of Accountancy from Singapore Management University and an MBA from The Wharton School.
Wanying has end to end experience across the investment process, including deal sourcing (across Southeast Asia & Australia), due diligence and portfolio management activities.
She has been involved in the investment process for SaaS, data and marketplace businesses – having led deals and diligence processes for companies in Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning, AdTech, EdTech, SMB and Enterprise SaaS, amongst many others.
Wanying is a graduate of the National University of Singapore Business School, and relocated to Singapore from China as a scholarship student, and is fluent in written and spoken Mandarin as well as English.
Natasha leads Finance and Operations at Qualgro, and oversees portfolio management and operatoins, fund compliance and audit related activity, as well as ot investor relations.
Natasha was previously a Vice President, Head of Finance and Operations at Optima Pecunia Providentia Advisors, a fund management company, where she was responsible for fund financial accounting, tax and various regulatory and operational matters.
Previously, Natasha was a Financial Controller at Morgan Stanley Investment Management. She started her career with Ascend Capital Group, a fund management company, and has extensive experience with setting-up operations for fund management entities.
Natasha holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance from the University of Bradford and is a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) registered with CPA Australia.
Badai supports the investment team with analysis, due diligence and portfolio management as an Associate (across Southeast Asia and Australia, with a focus on Indonesia and other emerging markets).
Prior to joining Qualgro, Badai has undertaken roles in innovation consulting, operations, research and investments. He has worked in Singapore and New York, where he worked with tech startups in the coworking/incubator and cryptocurrency space.
Badai has supported the team in investment processes for companies in deep tech, such as robotics, enterprise SaaS and data analytics.
Badai graduated from National University of Singapore (NUS) with a Bachelors in Business Administration (Finance) and is an alum of the NUS Overseas College Program. He is an Indonesian national and speaks English, Mandarin and Bahasa Indonesia.
Yi Chao supports the investment team with analysis, due diligence and portfolio management as an Associate.
Prior to joining Qualgro, he was at PwC in the Asset and Wealth Management Market Research Centre, where he covered the asset management industry in Asia. He also has prior experiences in equity research at an investment bank and a start-up in the logistics space.
Yi Chao has supported the team in investment processes for companies in enterprise SaaS, HR tech and other B2B spaces.
Yi Chao graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a dual degree in Bachelor of Science in Accountancy and Bachelor of Science in Finance.
